Upcoming sports events in India include the Vedanta Delhi Half Marathon, India’s home cricket fixtures, national athletics competitions, the Chennai Open and late-year badminton tournaments. Delhi NCR also has professional golf, football and recreational pickleball on the calendar. Your first check should be whether you want to watch, participate or train.

This guide covers a selected October–December 2026 calendar of events held in India. It separates spectator admission from athlete entry and flags closed race registrations. Schedules can change, so follow the linked organiser notice before making travel plans.

Sports Events in Delhi NCR: Running, Golf and Football

Vedanta Delhi Half Marathon: 18 October

The Vedanta Delhi Half Marathon starts and finishes at Jawaharlal Nehru Stadium in New Delhi. Its half-marathon distance is 21.097 km. The organiser also lists an Open 10K and other race categories, but the rules and entry status differ between them.

As of this check, general half-marathon and Open 10K registrations are closed. The organiser’s pages identify some restricted alternative entry routes; these depend on eligibility and current availability. Don’t arrive expecting to buy a standard race place on the day.

Use the Listing Sports Vedanta Delhi Half Marathon profile for a local starting point, then confirm your category and assigned start wave with Procam. A spectator does not need a race bib, but access to particular areas may have separate rules.

Two Professional Golf Events in Different Venues

The DP World India Championship runs from 15 to 18 October at Delhi Golf Club. Because it begins on this article’s check date, it belongs in a “today and upcoming” shortlist rather than a future-only calendar. The official tour page links its spectator-ticket provider.

The Hero Women’s Indian Open follows on 22–25 October at DLF Golf & Country Club in Gurugram. It is a professional women’s tournament played over 72 holes. Its player registration instructions are not public walk-in entry instructions. Confirm spectator admission before setting out.

These venues are not interchangeable. A search for “golf events in Delhi” may return both, but your travel plan needs the actual address.

Football and Recreational Pickleball

District lists Punjab FC VS Mumbai City FC on 19 October at 7:30 PM, at Jawaharlal Nehru Stadium, New Delhi. The event page identifies Punjab FC Private Limited as the organiser. Read the current gate and ticket terms rather than relying on a forwarded poster.

For a different kind of sports outing, Big Dink Energy is listed for 24 October at The Blue Court in Gurugram. The page describes a pickleball tournament with spectator activities. Ask the organiser about playing categories and registration: buying an event ticket does not automatically enter you into the competition.

Upcoming Athletics and Running Events Beyond Delhi

The 6th Indian Open U23 Athletics Competition takes place in Jaipur from 16–18 October. AFI’s circular names Sawai Mansingh Stadium. The 41st National Junior Athletics Championships follow in Chennai from 23–27 October, at Jawaharlal Nehru Stadium.

These are competitive track-and-field meetings. Athletes need to check the relevant entry process and qualifying conditions; they are not casual fitness sessions with unrestricted participation. Use the AFI events calendar to find the competition, then read its specific circular.

The Tawang Marathon is scheduled for 24 October, with full-marathon, half-marathon, 10K and 5K categories. Its venue is Gyalwa Tsangyang Gyatso High Altitude Stadium in Tawang. The official website now says registration is closed, even though older promotional text still contains “register” buttons. Follow the current closure notice.

For runners already entered, the organiser provides separate information on acclimatisation and travel permits. Read that guidance before planning a high-altitude trip. The Listing Sports Tawang Marathon profile is a discovery page, not a live registration guarantee.

The official channel listed this as forthcoming event coverage for 16 October 2026 when checked. It is a scheduled broadcast, not a highlights package from a completed 2026 event. Availability may change; use the direct YouTube link if an embedded player does not load.

Cricket Fixtures to Watch in October

India’s fifth T20I against West Indies is scheduled for 17 October at M. Chinnaswamy Stadium, Bengaluru, starting at 7:00 PM IST. The BCCI match centre displays 1:30 PM UTC, which is the same start time in a different time zone.

The women’s home series offers several other dates. BCCI lists India Women VS Zimbabwe Women T20Is in Raipur on 16, 18 and 20 October, all at 7:00 PM IST. The ODI matches are in Vadodara on 23, 25 and 28 October, at 2:00 PM IST.

Match schedules do not confirm seat availability or prices. Use official board or host-association announcements to identify authorised tickets, and avoid transferring money to an unverified seller merely because the fixture is real.

Tennis and Badminton Events in November and December

The Chennai Open runs from 2–8 November at SDAT Tennis Stadium. It is a WTA 250 women’s tournament on outdoor hard courts. Check the daily order of play nearer your visit; the tournament week does not tell you which player will appear on a particular day.

Badminton fans can plan around three later tournaments: Syed Modi India International in Lucknow, 24–29 November; Guwahati Masters, 1–6 December; and Odisha Masters in Cuttack, 8–13 December. These dates and host locations appear on the respective BWF pages.

Guwahati’s page names Saru Sajai Indoor Sports Complex. The retrieved Odisha page specifies Cuttack but not a stadium, so confirm the venue rather than copying an older edition’s address.

How to Choose an Event you can Actually Attend

Start with your purpose. A professional cricket match is mainly a spectator outing; an organised run requires participant registration. An athletics championship may require a qualifying performance and entry through the relevant sporting body.

Then check the exact date, venue and organiser. Keep the current cancellation terms and confirmation message. For children, ask about age eligibility and supervision. For outdoor events, check the organiser’s weather and schedule updates before leaving home.

If you’re searching for fitness events in Delhi or beginner sports activities, look for a clearly described ability level and session format. A nearby sports centre or club may suit regular practice better than a one-day tournament. The guide to finding local sports activities in India explains how to narrow the options.

For longer-term training, use the academy, coach, club, venue or event decision guide. Event listings do not establish which academy or sports school is “best.”

Frequently Asked Questions

Which sports events are happening tomorrow in India?

The Jaipur U23 athletics competition begins that day, and India Women face Zimbabwe Women in Raipur at 7:00 PM IST. The DP World India Championship also continues. Recheck the date if you’re reading later.

Are upcoming athletic events in Delhi open to beginners?

It depends on the event and race category. The Delhi Half Marathon is on 18 October, but general half-marathon entries are closed. Don’t confuse a national track-and-field championship with an open community fitness session. The organiser’s entry notice decides who can participate.

Can I book every event through Listing Sports?
